AmazingRue is sassy， hilarious， clumsy， and bada**！ This book had me chuckling throughout， because Rue’s internal monologue， and sassy comebacks are where it’s at。 While being humorous， she’s also a take no bs kind of gal。 The story is made relatable with her character and that ending？ She’s definitely rocking the bad luck vibe there。

Overall 4。5 🌟 I don't know what to say。 Just A Phase is the first book in MJ Marstens' new series， Not Another Teen Wolf， and dude， I'm flabbergasted。 MJ's books are recommended all over bookmedia， the book community loves her。 I hear how hilarious her books are and I've been curious for a while， so when I read the title of this new series I knew that was the universe telling me it's time to read my first Marstens book and I loved it。 It totally didn't disappoint， Rue is crazy， the werewolves cu Overall 4。5 🌟 I don't know what to say。 Just A Phase is the first book in MJ Marstens' new series， Not Another Teen Wolf， and dude， I'm flabbergasted。 MJ's books are recommended all over bookmedia， the book community loves her。 I hear how hilarious her books are and I've been curious for a while， so when I read the title of this new series I knew that was the universe telling me it's time to read my first Marstens book and I loved it。 It totally didn't disappoint， Rue is crazy， the werewolves culture is obviously shady as heck， and best of all it was so funny。Really it was Rue that had me cracking up， the crap that flies out of her mouth， not to mention all the drunk antics， seriously girl has issues。 I love the fact that she's sassy AF but she's not a bad person she just wants to live her life without people controlling her。 Unfortunately， all her freedom goes away when her parents reveal she's a werewolf （she had no clue） and told her that some shady stuff went down in the past， and now the elder council （a bunch of old dudes） is telling her she must pick a mate or suffer the consequences， said consequences means death。 Rue is not having it， devices a plan that gives her the best option while making all the guys' life a living hell for the next month。The sad truth is that every single dude has one chapter and after reading from their perspective I can tell you one， Rue doesn't know anything about werewolves， and two， she is in so much trouble。 All the guys are jerks who have their own agendas except for two。 Saulo is an omega （the only one up for mating） and has to deal with a lot of crap but he would be an excellent friend not mate and then there is Levi， whose pack is seen as less because they have more humanity， he's a good guy and I like him a lot。 The rest of the wolves are manipulative and have no qualms about using Rue and not only that expect Rue to follow their every command because their either an alpha or beta （that is soon to be alpha）。 Don't get me wrong their not evil but they aren't the good guys either。Let me tell you the werewolf culture in this book is toxic and outdated。 Feminism doesn't exist， women are all omegas no one expects a woman to be a beta or an alpha， they are expected to breed and follow commands。 Even the male omegas are looked down upon and are treated unfairly。 The whole wolf culture is pretty much closed off from humanity so they are stuck in their ways， they don't realize how genetics work and how closely they may be related to humans or how their cultural traditions aren't right or working for all that matter。 They keep saying Rue is an omega but her personality screams beta （maybe even alpha） but Rue is an anomaly and I have no idea how that is going to work out but I know it's gonna be funny。The best part of this book was the humor but it had my anxiety ramped up because I felt embarrassment for Rue， even when she didn't。 Gods this book put me through the motions and I was super stressed but it was so good。 I have to point out one thing that drove me crazy， can I please acknowledge that Rue's parents are iffy。 They tossed her into this world blind， didn't give her enough information （although to be fair I'm not sure Rue would've paid attention anyway）， and they didn't really take responsibility for the mess they created。 However， they do love her and they had a crappy situation themselves。Just A Phase is a paranormal reverse harem that's told from multiple points of view， with a rebellious new wolf， hot alpha （/beta） males， and shady politics。 Everything went so fast but this is a slow burn type of read。 One thing for sure is that Rue seems to get under everyone's skin and while she likes getting her way， the guys want to get her。 I don't think the wolves know what they are getting into when it comes to Rue but it's gonna be hilarious when they find out。 。。。more
